Hello, Goodbye

Well, there goes February. Between WriteOnCon, beta reading, normal reading, finishing a draft of NOVUS, family events, and a move, the blog got neglected. But there’s always next month, right?

Here’s a quick summary of February:

What I read:
Spiderwick Chronicles 1&2 by Holly Black (Definitely for younger MG. Short, easy reads.)
No and Me by Delphine de Vigan (Thought-provoking read of the month)
The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes
River Secrets by Shannon Hale (Razo and Dasha. Be still my heart.)
Forest Born by Shannon Hale (I could write an entire post about my complex relationship with this book. And probably will.)
Flight and Chimes and Mysterious Times by Emma Trevayne (Steampunk is always a fun jaunt away from the normal fantasy tropes, but there were a lot of loose ends in this one.)

February goal report:
FINISH THAT REWRITE. (DONE! As of . . . ten minutes ago.)
Write a query letter that doesn’t make me cringe. (DONE!! Thank you, glorious members of the WriteOnCon forum, for your feedback.)
Make progress on the endless book of the endless sands. (Mental progress is still progress, right? I know what’s going to happen. Just have to write it down.)
Create every day. (Maybe. I’ve had so much going on that I haven’t kept track.)
Keep a daily gratitude journal. (I’ve missed a few days here and there, but it’ll be easier to be consistent once this move is over with.

March goals:
Finish a draft of the endless book of the endless sands.
Finish my current beta-read.
Finish my family history project. (Guys. Family history work is RIFE with story fodder.)
Jump on the bookstagram bandwagon.
Actually, you know, blog. And find some other stellar blogs to keep up with.

    1. Thanks! It’s finished only in the loosest sense of the word, but finished enough that I can let it rest for a while and work on other things. I’m so happy to see you back on WordPress! Does this possibly foretell a new blog post?? :):):)

      1. I hope so. I’ve been struggling with anything resembling creativity lately. I feel like my mind is blank. I see everyone’s blog topics and not a single idea comes to mind for a post. Sad, really.
